 John FirmFOUNDER Four years ago, John Firm launched Texas Two Step Training with the vision of bringing world-class automotive education directly to technicians across Texas. By traveling throughout the state and partnering with some of the industry’s most respected trainers, John helped create a more accessible and community-driven approach to automotive training. Today, Texas Two Step Training serves technicians and automotive professionals from across the United States, providing practical, high-level instruction focused on real-world diagnostics, emerging technologies, and industry advancement. John remains dedicated to strengthening the automotive community through education, collaboration, and hands-on learning opportunities. When he’s not organizing training events, he enjoys spending time on rivers and lakes in his airboat and helping friends and community members whenever he can. |
 Dawn SloasEXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Dawn Sloas joined Texas Two Step Training in 2025 and serves as Executive Director, helping lead the organization’s operations, communication, and event coordination efforts. From building the website and creating media content to managing emails and logistics, Dawn plays a key role in keeping TTST running smoothly behind the scenes. Coming from the home inspection industry and years within the coaching space, Dawn brings a strong passion for education, leadership, and community development. She is especially focused on helping bridge the gap between employers and employees while connecting shop owners, service advisors, and technicians with meaningful training opportunities.
Dawn is committed to serving the automotive industry through organization, support, and continuous learning. She also co-hosts the Mileage May Vary podcast alongside John, where they explore conversations surrounding training, leadership, and the future of the automotive industry. |
